Too many young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. While heart screening can’t detect all heart abnormalities, it can help identify a number of conditions so that more lives can be saved.

We offer support to bereaved families whenever we can. One way in which we can do this is by helping you set up a fund in memory of a loved one, to raise money for more heart screenings across Wales. If you have lost a loved one, we hope to bring some comfort to families by helping them to do something that will keep their loved one’s memory alive, so that they can leave a lifesaving legacy. We want to work towards a future where nobody loses a family member to a heart condition that could have been treated.

It costs £7,200 to screen up to 90 people, anywhere in the UK. For more information on how we can help you set up a memorial fund, please get in touch with us, and we’ll do all we can to support you.

Donating or fundraising in memory of someone is a very special and meaningful way to remember them and clearly shows how much you care and miss them. You are in fact, honouring their life and helping others at the same time. We are always incredibly touched and grateful to receive these donations.

You can support Calon Heart Screening in memory of a loved one in a few different ways:

• Collect at a funeral or memorial service

You can make a regular or one-off donation to Calon Heart Screening but as you make your donation please get in contact and tell us the name of this special person and, if you would like, tell us more about why you are donating. If you would like us to share your loved one’s story, please let us know as well.

Collect at a funeral or memorial event

Collecting at a funeral can help Calon Heart Screening make a lasting difference in the memory of your loved one. You may choose to do this by asking for donations instead of flowers. You can also hold a collection at your celebration of life or memorial service. 

Announcing the death of a family member is a time honoured tradition, a tradition we believe should continue as life should be celebrated and never forgotten. You can create a funeral notice and choose Calon Hearts as your chosen charity to help us continue our life-saving work.
